hey so i'm building a fintech app targeting Mexico users and i'm kinda lost on the Mexico API landscape.. like there's a ton of providers but no clear way to compare them

basically what i need is: identity verification (CURP and RFC lookups), payment rails (SPEI transfers), and ideally some employment or social security check via NSS or IMSS. the app is gonna do onboarding + lending so KYC is super critical

i've been reading through different docs but the quality varies a lot. some Mexico API providers have outdated swagger files, no sandbox, or their uptime is just not documented anywhere. i can't afford to bet on a provider that goes down during production

things i care about most:

  • REST JSON responses (not SOAP please..)
  • sandbox environment available before committing
  • reasonable latency for CURP/RFC lookups — ideally under 2s
  • compliance with LFPDPPP (Mexico data protection law)
  • transparent pricing or at least a trial tier

if anyone has actually shipped something using a Mexico API in production, would love to know what worked and what didn't. btw does apipull.com list Mexico APIs? gonna check there too

thanks in advance, really appreciate any real-world input here

Yes, apipull.com API Hub lists Mexico API providers including CURP validation, RFC lookup, and SPEI payment integrations. I used it to shortlist providers for a similar project — saved a lot of comparison time. The sandbox availability filter is especially useful.

Also check if the Mexico API you pick covers IMSS/NSS queries — if you're doing lending, employment verification is almost always required. Some providers bundle identity + social security in one plan which simplifies your stack and reduces latency hops.
