SEP publishes RVOE status publicly. A university verification API that checks RVOE is available from some third-party providers. Cross-referencing RVOE status with the cédula profesional is the gold standard check.

We hired someone whose degree looked legitimate but turned out to be from a fake "university" that had its RVOE (SEP recognition) revoked years ago. Now we want to build a university verification API check into our hiring process.
Is there an API that checks whether a university has a current, valid RVOE from SEP? And can it also confirm that a specific degree was properly registered under that RVOE?
